Service Description

This one-day level 3, 4 and 5 (Looked after Children knowledge and Skills competences of healthcare staff – Intercollegiate competences March 2015) conference is directed at all professionals whose work brings them into contact with looked after children. It aims to help update and refresh the knowledge, skills and competences of health care staff and professionals. Healthcare professionals have an important role to play in enabling looked after children to overcome disadvantages and to reach their full potential.-Looked after Children: Knowledge, skills and competences of healthcare staff: March 2015. There were 70,440 Looked after Children as at 31 March 2016 and the number of looked after children has continued to rise. This one-day conference is aimed at all professionals whose work brings them into contact with looked after children. This conference is aimed at doctors and other health and social care professionals who work with children and young people. It will be of particular interest to designated nurses, designated doctors & specialist advisers for Looked after children as well as paediatricians, child psychologists, child psychiatrists, children’s nurses, health visitors, school nurses, allied health professionals, sexual health staff, GPs and midwives.
